Cell Biology Scientist
(Job Code: DG‐CBS)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility for cell biology experiments to elucidate the proteostasis networks and to develop therapeutics acting through modulation of these networks
- Participate in and contribute to strategic planning and collaborative interactions for research projects, including presentations, data analysis, experimental design, manuscript preparation
- Mentor, supervise, and train research associates for performing duties related to these goals
Degree Required:
PhD in cell biology/molecular biology. 5-7+ years post‐degree lab experience preferred with a minimum of 4+ years relevant small molecule drug discovery experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills:
The successful candidate will be a “hands‐on” cell biologist with significant experience in:
- Mammalian cell biology, molecular biology and cellular pharmacology
- Drug discovery, including program leadership and biological/HTS approaches to hit identification/characterization/optimization.
- Working as part of cross‐functional collaborative teams
- Pathway and Network/Systems Biological approaches to drug discovery through analysis of gene/protein expression and modulation (microarray, QRT-PCR, multiplex gene and protein expression applications and data analysis)
Knowledge of pathways and processes involved in maintaining proteostasis preferred
