Position Title: Commercial Strategy & Business Development Associate

Position Overview:

PTI is seeking an Commercial Strategy & Business Development Associate for a full-time position. The candidate will have relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a demonstrated interest in life sciences. A background in investment banking, consulting, corporate development, or strategy is preferred.

Commercial Strategy Functions:

  • Support the Director of Commercial Strategy & Business Development with the development and execution of commercial strategy for Proteostasis’ pipeline
  • Assist in refining the TPP for CF drug candidates
  • Prepare discussion materials around commercial assumptions and strategy for the Executive Leadership Team and external advisers such as Proteostasis’ Commercial Advisory Board
  • Conduct primary and secondary market research with key stakeholders such as KOLs and payers
  • Identify key commercialization scale up activities and initiate workstreams to support commercial scale up
  • Conduct research on the competitive landscape in CF and propose ways to differentiate Proteostasis’ pipeline
  • Work cross-functionally to identify dependencies and gather key inputs that inform commercial strategy
  • Support development of internal valuation models (rNPV, benchmarks) around product candidates
  • Interact with external vendors and partners to drive commercial strategy

Corporate Development Functions:

  • Support the Director of Commercial Strategy & Business Development and the Executive Leadership Team on corporate development initiatives
  • Help to identify and track interaction with potential commercial partners
  • Analyze and conduct due diligence on potential commercial partners
  • Develop content for financing activities and discussions with investors, investment banks, and research analysts

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 to 2 years of work experience in life sciences, as an analyst in investment banking, consulting, corporate development, or strategy
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and to synthesize and distill vast amounts of information quickly
  • Creative and adaptable individual capable of working on multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and ability to support a lean team
  • Familiarity with excel modeling and valuation concepts preferred
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
